Theresa May has indicated that she will bring forward a new “multiyear” funding settlement for the NHS ahead of next year’s government spending review to help ease immediate pressures on the service. The comments, made to a House of Commons liaison committee on Tuesday 27 March,1 follow increasingly vociferous calls from MPs and healthcare leaders for an urgent funding injection to help stabilise overburdened services.
