Writing for research publication is a skill that one acquires through practice, perseverance, and mentorship. It requires excellent writing skills and solid understanding of the research process. As editors and reviewers, we have come across well-written manuscripts, but unfortunately, we have also reviewed manuscripts with varying degrees of weaknesses. Given that writing for research continues to be a challenge for many junior researchers, we have decided to dedicate this ‘‘Focus Point’’ to the issue of scholarly writing in quantitative nursing research so that we may provide authors with brief highlights regarding the preparation of a publishable manuscript for this type of research. Readers interested in additional information about this topic may consult our detailed manuscript in Canadian Nurse (El-Masri & Fox-Wasylyshyn, 2017).
