Key Points Question Are diabetes status, random glucose, and hemoglobin A1c associated with central corneal thickness (CCT) measurement? Findings In this cross-sectional study of 8846 multiethnic Asian adults, diabetes and glucose and hemoglobin A1c levels were associated with thicker CCT; these associations were significant in the subgroup with diabetes but not in the subgroup without diabetes. A meta-analysis including 12 previous studies showed that CCT was 12.8 μm thicker in eyes of patients with diabetes. Meaning Findings from this study are important for CCT determination and may provide useful information on the interpretation of intraocular pressure in patients with diabetes.
