discovered a glitch with our use of SPSS software, which sometimes calculates the reciprocals if the parameter is not defined as a categorial variable, depending on the codes defined for the parameter. Thus, in several instances, we erroneously reported the reciprocal HR. All the HRs have been double-checked and corrected, and I have reviewed the raw data have verified that all analyses were correct. In addition, the labels for the curves in Figures 1C and 2C were flipped. Finally, during the editing process, the abbreviation BM was erroneously expanded to “bone metastases” rather than “brain metastasis” in several places. None of these errors affect the interpretations of conclusions of our study. We have requested that the article be corrected online.2
