Key Points Question Is there an association between long-term medication therapy and late outcomes among patients with aortic dissection? Findings In this population-based cohort study of 6978 adults with aortic dissection, the risk of all-cause mortality was lower among patients prescribed an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) or an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and those prescribed a β-blocker than among those prescribed other antihypertension agents. The risk of all-cause mortality was lower in the ARB group than in the ACEI group in long-term follow-up. Meaning Compared with other antihypertension agents, β-blockers and ACEIs or ARBs may be associated with benefits in the long-term treatment of aortic dissection.
