Key Points Question Is the global burden of gastric cancer increasing in younger adults compared with older adults? Findings In this cohort study of data from 1980 to 2018 covering more than 1 million cases of gastric cancer, an increasing incidence of gastric cancer was observed in individuals younger than 40 years in a significant number of countries, including Sweden, the UK, and Ecuador. Meaning These findings suggest that the prevention of gastric cancer should become a priority in clinical guidelines and policy agendas to ameliorate its associated morbidity and mortality, especially among younger populations.
