Key Points Question Is trainee participation during colonoscopy procedures associated with quality metrics? Findings This cohort study found that trainee involvement was associated with a lower sessile serrated polyp detection rate, but not adenoma detection rate, polyp detection rate, or cecal intubation rate, after adjusting for potential patient, endoscopist, and procedural confounders. Meaning The results of this study suggest that extra care should be exercised examining the right colon when trainees are involved in colonoscopy procedures.
