Findings In this cross-sectional study of 16 922 274 ED visits by Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries in 2005-2020, the presence of NPPs in the ED compared with no NPPs was associated with 5.3% more imaging studies per ED visit. Meaning Use of NPPs in the ED setting appears to be associated with higher imaging use.
