Findings In this cohort study of 117 749 patients with EPL, patients who presented to the ED were less likely to receive surgical or medication management than patients presenting to an outpatient clinic. Meaning These findings suggest that patients with EPL diagnosed in the ED vs outpatient clinics are less likely to receive active management via surgery or medication; these differences may reflect barriers to accessing comprehensive EPL management options.
