Key Points Question Do SMS text messages to parents twice daily improve control of myopia in school-aged children? Findings In this randomized clinical trial including 268 school-aged children, children in the SMS group had lower myopia progression and reduced myopia prevalence than those in the control group over 2 years. Meaning The findings suggest that using text message reminders to parents offers improved control of myopia in school-aged children and should be considered for use with large populations and over large geographic areas.
