This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Diagnostic test accuracy). The objectives are as follows: To describe and compare the diagnostic accuracy of the Canadian C-spine rule and the National Emergency X-Radiography Utilization Study (NEXUS) to screen for clinically important cervical spine injury (CSI) in patients following blunt trauma.
