Ti‐Al3Ti metal‐intermetallic laminate (MIL) composites are biomimetic materials inspired by the shell nacre structure. They show great potential for applications in the fields of aerospace, armor, marine, etc. This article comprehensively reviews current research on Ti‐Al3Ti MIL composites prepared via foil metallurgy. It covers their fundamentals, microstructure, mechanical properties, and modifications. Previous research suggests that the technological developments in fiber reinforcement, structural optimization, and alloying modification are crucial, which will help promote the use of these composites as high‐performance structural materials. Also, future development prospects on Ti‐Al3Ti MIL composites are discussed.
