“The primary object of this book is to serve a s a bridge for both practitioner and student from the descriptive anatomy, as it is usually taught in the first two years of amedical course, to its daily application at the bedside, in the clinic, or in the operating room. The term “Clinical Anatomy” seemed to be the most appropriate one to use to express the larger filed which the subject covers. The termwas first employed in this sense by Dr. A. D. Bevan, to convey the fact that clinical anatomy is anatomical knowledge as applied to every branch of clinical work e.g., not only medicine and surgery in the narrower sense, but also to all the specialties.”
