The rationale for adjunctive intracoronary diagnostic techniques is to supplement coronary angiography, the traditional method for determining the severity of coronary stenoses [1,2]. The purpose of this Focused Update is to incorporate the latest clinical evidence regarding these procedures into the 2014 SCAI Position Statement [2]. This document focuses on recommendations concerning the diagnostic potential of these modalities in specific lesion subsets and clinical circumstances.
