Dr. Field is currently senior consultant in the Department of Anatomical Pathology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney; senior lecturer at the University of New South Wales; and Associate Professor at Notre Dame University Medical School, Sydney. He has published on proliferative breast lesions, especially papillomas, and has lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally, on breast FNAB cytology and other topics, including the role of FNAB in the diagnosis of infections and of thyroid and lymph node lesions. He is the International Academy of Cytology president elect and co-chair of the International Academy of Cytology Breast FNAB Standardized Reporting Group. He has a major interest in teaching and expanding cytology services in developing countries.
