ENLIGHT-TEN is an EU MarieSklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) project that aims to provide PhD students with cross-disciplinary training in T cell immunology and big data analysis (http://www.enlight-ten.eu/). The constant advent of novel technologies generating ever larger data sets urgently requires skilled researchers that are familiar with both fields, immunology and big data [1, 2]. To address this, ENLIGHT-TEN is currently training a cohort of 12 PhD students at the intersection of immunology and big data analysis. Associated to the last European Congress of Immunology (ECI) celebrated in September in Amsterdam [3], ENLIGHTTEN organised two highly successful and complementary events: An art exhibition “Art Enlightening Immunology”, to raise awareness of the general public on immunological concepts, and an ECI satellite symposium “ENLIGHT-TENed by big data: advancing T cell immunology”, which showcased recent research highlights at the interface of big data analysis and immunology.
