We feel it is our duty to communicate that one of the pH values was shown incorrectly in our previous study [1]. We determined the soil pH in distilled water (soil/water, 1/1, w/w), and in 1 M potassium chloride according to Karkanis’s method [2]. Undoubtedly in soil samples the KCl pH values are generally higher than the H2O pH values; however, it should be mentioned that the Cotopaxi sample’s real KCl pH value is 10.40, and not 17.40 as shown in Table 1.
