This study proposes the use of flat reflector sections in the compound parabolic concentrator (CPC) instead of the parabolic shape. Flat reflector sections create more uniform energy flux distributions on the solar module, thus improving the power output. A CPC with flat reflector sections has been designed. The optimased multisectioned CPC has uniform illumination, high‐angular acceptance, and high‐optical efficiency similar standard CPC.
