Study conducted by Salmon-Ceron, D. et al. [1 shows that in the period of combined antiretroviral therapy, the risks of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and hepatic decompensation are similar between HCV mono-infected cirrhotic patients and HIV/HCV co-infected cirrhotic patients, even though the later have higher all-cause mortality. Although rigorously implemented, the study overlooked tuberculosis infections and anti-tuberculosis therapy, which may greatly influence the outcome. This article is protected by copyright.
