We read with interest the article by Ju Dong Yang et al.(1) The study demonstrated that diabetes is associated with an increased risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) cirrhosis and validated their findings in an external cohort.
