We thank Bernuau et al for their interest and comments in regards to our reported case of acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) (1). A detailed drug history was taken, and she certainly did not have a history of acetaminophen or drug toxicity. Furthermore an acetaminophen level was checked two days following her presentation and was < 10 mg/L. Notably our patient was nulliparous, previously had a miscarriage and her current pregnancy was conceived via in vitro fertilization, and so was vigilant with her antenatal care and most definitely would not have overdosed on any drugs or toxins.
