The authors notified the editors of JBMR about a possible duplication (in reverse orientation) of the T-ERK panel from Fig. 1A in an article in the Journal of Biological Chemistry (1) and in Fig. 5B of the above JBMR publication (2) that they wish to correct. On examining the original data for both publications, the authors determined that an error was made during the assembly of Fig. 5B in (2) such that there was a mix-up in the scans of the films of the Western blot quantitation of T-ERK. When making the figure for , a second scan of this film was made with the film in reverse orientation and was mistakenly used to generate the tot-ERK panel of Fig. 5B in . This was not caught because the T-ERK values are similar in all eight lanes for both Fig. 1A in (1) and Fig. 5B in . The authors provided the editors of JBMR the uncropped scans of the original films used to generate a corrected version of Fig. 5B as well as a file showing the labeling of lanes, approximate regions cropped, and sizes of bands corresponding to what is shown in the figure. A corrected version of Fig. 5 appears here.
