To the Editor, E. Galmozzi, P. Casalini, M. V. Iorio, B. Casati, C. Olgiati, S. Ménard. HER2 signaling enhances 5′‐UTR‐mediated translation of c‐Myc mRNA, J Cell Physiol, 200 (2004), pp. 82‐88 reports that “HRG stimulation of HER2 overexpressing cells leads to enhanced c‐Myc protein synthesis through activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway and that the P2L of c‐Myc mRNA is the element responsible for induction of c‐Myc translation.” The claims are undermined by apparent multiple image duplications. Specifically the bands in the IGROV1/Pt1 actin panel in fig. 1A appear to resemble closely the bands in the middle three lanes in the actin panel of fig. 1C. The images are supposed to derive from different experiments:
