A simple three-components reaction between alkynes, primary amines, and isothiocyanates in the presence of nanophase ZnO catalysts in aqueous medium at room temperature is reported which produced 1,3-thiazolidine derivatives in good yields. Particularly valuable features of this method include high yields of products, broad substrate scope, short reaction time, and straightforward procedure.
