The important therapeutic properties of imidazole-related drugs have encouraged the medicinal chemists to synthesize and test a large number of novel molecules. In this investigation, it was of interest to synthesize (2-alkyl/aryl-3H-imidazo[2,1-c][1,2,4]triazol-3-yl)(aryl)methanone by short reaction times of N-triazol-3-yl imidate with phenacyl bromides under basic conditions. All compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, elemental analyses, and mass spectral analysis.
