We present accurate measurements for the wavenumbers of the S0(0), S0(1) and S0(2) pure rotational Raman lines in D2. Our measurements improve the accuracy of the previously available experimental data by an order of magnitude. They also show complete agreement with the stateof-the-art ab initio calculations of the D2 rotational splitting, which include both relativistic and QED corrections.
