To the editor, Efficacy of liver transplantation (LT) using grafts obtained from patients with maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) simultaneously undergoing LT, termed domino liver transplantation (DOLT), is well established but not widely practiced. To explore the outcomes and impact of MSUD DOLT, we reviewed our experience in comparison with our contemporaneous cohort of nondomino liver transplantations (nDOLTs). We hypothesized that waitlist time (WLT) and waitlist mortality (WLM) in pediatric nDOLT patients would outnumber these in pediatric MSUD DOLT patients.
