Sydenham ’ s chorea (SC) is a neuropsychiatric autoimmune condition mediated by antibodies that disrupt cortico-striatal circuits, causing motor, behavioral, and cognitive abnormalities. 1,2 Mild disturbances in cognitive processes may result in maladaptive behaviors, lacking ef fi ciency and ef fi cacy when performing tasks. Executive functions and inhibitory control (IC), its pillar, have been reported as compromised in SC. 3 Inadequate inhibition can result in impulsivity.
