The extended aggregate basis function method (EABFM) is proposed to analyze the electromagnetic scattering by the composite structure with periodic array. The generation of the impedance matrix in the EABFM is still time consuming. The fast dipole method (FDM) and the equivalent dipole‐moment method (EDM) are applied to accelerate the fill‐in of the matrix. Several numerical examples are performed. Simulation results validate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.
