TO THE EDITOR: We read with interest the study by Schulman et al. (1) of the National Inpatient Sample for patients with a history of bariatric surgery admitted for a gastrojejunal ulcer (acute or chronic, with or without complications). The exposure of interest was Helicobacter pylori (340 patients with H pylori and 253,425 without H pylori), and the primary outcome was development of marginal ulceration (3.9%) (31.2% in H pylori–positive patients and 3.87% in H pylori–negative patients).
