ZusammenfassungHintergrundIn der Kopf-Hals-Onkologie gewinnen immuntherapeutische Konzepte an Bedeutung und wurden bei dem diesjährigen amerikanischen Krebskongress in relevanter Anzahl präsentiert.Ziel der ArbeitIn dieser Arbeit sollen die interessantesten Studien und Studienergebnisse der Immuntherapie von Kopf-Hals-Tumoren zusammengefasst werden.Material und MethodenAlle ASCO Abstracts und Präsentationen zur Immuntherapie von Kopf-Halstumoren wurden beurteilt und die interessantesten Studien aufgearbeitet.ErgebnisseAuch wenn unmittelbar praxisverändernde Ergebnisse großer Phase-III-Studien ausblieben, wurden einige nennenswerte Ansätze und neue Erkenntnisse für die Immuntherapie von Kopf-Hals-Tumoren präsentiert. Neoadjuvante Immuntherapiestudien, Ergebnisse zur Immuntherapie im Alter, zum prognostischen Einfluss immunvermittelter Nebenwirkungen und neue Immuntherapiekombinationen werden hier zusammengefasst.SchlussfolgerungDie Rolle der Immuntherapie erreicht in der Behandlung von Kopf-Hals-Tumoren einen zunehmenden Stellenwert. Viele wegweisende Studien befinden sich derzeit in der Durchführung, Auswertung oder Planung.AbstractBackgroundImmunotherapeutic strategies are becoming increasingly more important for head and neck cancer and numerous clinical trials were presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2018.ObjectiveIn this review the most interesting clinical trials and trial results for immunotherapy of head and neck cancer are summarized.Material and methodsAll abstracts and presentations on immunotherapy of head and neck cancer at the annual meeting of the ASCO 2018 were screened to select the most interesting trials for a more detailed analysis.ResultsFor head and neck cancer, practice changing phase III trial results were missing, but several noteworthy new strategies and trial results for immunotherapy were presented. Neoadjuvant immunotherapy trials, results concerning immunotherapy in old age, prognostic implications of immune-mediated adverse events and new immunotherapy combinations are summarized in this article.ConclusionThe role of immunotherapy for the treatment of head and neck cancer is markedly increasing. Many pioneering trials are currently ongoing, in the phase of data analysis or in planning.
