Mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics has contributed hugely to the determination of the human proteome, which mainly benefits the construction of high-efficiency enzyme reactors and high-performance separation and enrichment methods of proteins prior to MS analysis. In particular, magnetic particles with adjustable size and good biocompatibility are easy to prepare and can respond quickly to external magnetic fields to achieve fast and thorough separation of conjugated targets from the sample solution. All these advantages facilitate the wide adoption of magnetic particles in establishing sample preparation technology and advancing proteomics research, and are addressed in Magnetic micro-/nano-materials for proteomics analysis by Nianrong Sun and Chunhui Deng.
