Ion conduction behavior of a new Na+ ion-conducting nanocomposite polymer electrolytes (NCPEs): (1 − x) [70PEO:30NaBr] + xSiO2, where 0 <  x < 20 wt%, is reported. NCPEs have been synthesized using a hot-press technique. Materials characterization, polymer-salt/nanofiller SiO2 complexation and thermal properties characterization were done with the help of XRD, FTIR, SEM, DSC and TGA studies. The ion conduction behavior in the present NCPEs has been discussed by the experimental measurements on some basic ionic parameters viz. conductivity (σ), ionic mobility (μ), mobile ion concentration (n), ionic transference number (tion), ionic drift velocity (vd) etc.
