This review covers the synthesis of monomers containing 1,2,3-triazole and/or tetrazole rings and provides analysis of examples where such monomers have been used for the formation of polymers with superior energetic characteristics. The reactions used for the preparation of polynitrogen polymers include cycloaddition, polycondensation, polymerization, and other transformations.
