Synthesis of novel (+)-sclareolide-based homodrimane sesquiterpenoids bearing 1,3,4-oxadiazole or 1,3,4-thiadiazole units has been reported. These terpeno-heterocyclic compounds demonstrate promising antifungal and antibacterial activities toward fungal species Aspergillus niger , Fusarium solani , Penicillium chrysogenum , Penicillium frequentans , and Alternaria alternata and bacteria strains Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus sp. with minimum inhibitory concentration at μg/ml level.
