One new phenyl group dimeric compound, named polygamol A (1), together with two known compounds, 2,2-bis[4-(2,3-dihydroxypropoxy)phenyl]propane (2) and 1,3-di-O-[2′,2′-di-(p-phenylene)isopropylidene]-glycerol (3), were isolated from the roots of Polygonum amplexicaule var. sinense.… Click to show full abstract
One new phenyl group dimeric compound, named polygamol A (1), together with two known compounds, 2,2-bis[4-(2,3-dihydroxypropoxy)phenyl]propane (2) and 1,3-di-O-[2′,2′-di-(p-phenylene)isopropylidene]-glycerol (3), were isolated from the roots of Polygonum amplexicaule var. sinense. The structures of these compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopic analysis. The new compound exhibited weak activity in vitro against the MGC-803, A549, SMMC-7721, and HT-29 cell lines.
