Diabetic hepatosclerosis (DHS), initially described in 2006, represents a form of diabetic microangiopathy of the liver found in patients with long-standing diabetes mellitus with other microvascular complications [1]. DHS is characterized by hepatic sinusoidal fibrosis with basement membrane formation in the absence of any histological features of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. [2] There are only limited data regarding the underlying mechanisms, clinical presentation, progression, and prognosis of DHS. In this paper, we report DHS in a young woman with maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 3 (MODY 3) and discuss the current literature on this topic.
