In this research poly[bis(3-phenyl-1-propoxide amino benzoic acid diethylamino)phosphazene] (PBDP) was synthesized via ring opening polymerization and macromolecular substitution in two steps. In the first step, polydichlorophosphazenes (PDCP) was synthesized from hexachlorocyclophosphazenes (HCCP) via ring opening polymerization in the presence of AlCl3 as a catalyst. In the second step, the chlorine atoms in PDCP were replaced with 3-phenyl-1-propanol, amino benzoic acid and diethylamine respectively. The chemical structure of PBDP was confirmed by 1H NMR, 31P NMR, and GPC analyses. The hydrolytic degradation of the PBDP was performed and it was observed that PBDP degraded rapidly in acidic and basic media than in neutral medium.
