A type of polyaniline (PANI) and itaconic acid (IA) with Fe3O4@PANI/IA magnetic nanocomposite was prepared via in-situ polymerization method. The Cr(VI) removal potential was examined in this work. Langmuir adsorption isotherm and Freundlich adsorption isotherm experiments was done in batch methods. Some parameters such as pH effect, dosage, contact time, and concentration of solutions were investigated in batch experiments. Structure and morphology of the nanocomposite were well characterized by FT-IR spectra, SEM, TEM, TGA/DTA, VSM, EDS and XRD studies. The results shows that the percentage of Cr(VI) removal (92.2%) has enhanced in PANI with IA nanocomposite. Considering all these results that the Fe3O4@PANI/IA nanocomposites have a promising adsorbent material for the removal of Cr(VI) ion from tannery wastewater.
