A graphene oxide-based magnetite composite nanocatalyst was prepared, characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectra, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) analysis. Then, it was used in the synthesis of various quinazoline derivatives under mild reaction conditions with good-to-high yields. The catalyst can be recycled several times without considerable decrease in its catalytic activity.
