Magnetization curves were measured using the methods of isothermal remanent magnetization (IRM) and direct current demagnetization (DCD) for nanocrystalline Sm 0.5 Y 0.5 Co 5 alloys. The study of magnetic properties for nanocrystalline Sm 0.5 Y 0.5 Co 5 alloys was performed with the Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS). The alloys exhibited a high remanent coercivity of 2.1 MA/m. The ratio of magnetic susceptibilities for nanocrystalline Sm 0.5 Y 0.5 Co 5 alloys was χ d /χ r  = 4.6, indicating the presence of magnetic interactions in the alloys. Nanocrystalline Sm 0.5 Y 0.5 Co 5 alloys with magnetic interactions were studied by measuring ΔM curves against the magnetic field, and the alloys showed dipolar and exchange interactions.
