The composition of the products of radiation and radiation-thermal destruction of the PUREX extraction organic phase of 30 vol% TBP in the Isopar-M diluent, pre-saturated with nitric acid, was studied. The composition of the formed functional derivatives was determined as an effect of the concentration of nitric acid, radiation dose and heating temperature. Methods of FTIR and NMR spectroscopies and gas chromatography were applied to analyze the decay products. It was revealed that the nitro-compounds and carboxylic acids dominate among other radiolysis products. The concentration of carboxylic acids in the heated samples sharply increases with the dose of preliminary irradiation.
