The influence of sets of 60% of the colourless cullet and 15% Calumite slag treated as a raw material substitution on the process of batch melting was studied. The research was conducted using differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermogravimetry (TG) based on a composition of model glass (mass%): 73.0% SiO2, 1.0% Al2O3, 10.0% CaO, 2.0% MgO and 14.0% Na2O. The influence of sulphate and multi-component fining agent and a mixture of As2O3, Sb2O3, NaNO3 in the proportions of 1:1:1 on the chemical reaction and phase transformation was tested. The results show that interaction of components which take place up to 600 °C is chemical in nature. DTA traces reveal an influence of cullet and slag on the formation of eutectic melts what changes temperature and shape of the effects. The addition of multi-component fining agent reduces the temperature of reactions and formation of the eutectic melt.
