Good congruences are defined as congruences preserving $$\mathcal L^*$$L∗-classes and $$\mathcal R^*$$R∗-classes. In this paper the good congruences on abundant semigroups generated by Green’s $$*$$∗-relations are investigated. The related results for regular semigroups are enriched and extended.
