In this work, in this paper, we mainly study two kinds of interaction solutions of the ($$2+1$$2+1)-dimensional Sawada–Kotera equation, one of which is the interaction solution between rational function and trigonometric function, including $$\cos $$cos function and $$\sin $$sin function, and the other one is the interaction solution between rational function and double exponential function. The dynamic properties and characteristics of these derived solutions are presented by the three-dimensional plots and corresponding contour lines.
