The problem of surface mode scattering from an iris diaphragm is studied by the integral equation technique. The theory is illustrated by the example of scattering of mode, propagating along metamaterial interface. The characteristics of radiation modes excited by the diaphragm are considered. The surface mode reflection and transmission coefficients, the near-field distribution and far-field radiation pattern are calculated.
