of patients with depression was 43, there is a limitation in the number of independent variables [4]. Finally, I have some doubt for the use of insulin-related biomarkers in hemodialysis patients. Serum insulin and C-peptide are cleared by hemodialysis, and the clearance rates and reduction rates differ across dialyzer types [5]. Although the authors obtained blood specimen from midweek pre-dialysis samples, the level of renal failure also relates to the level of insulin-related biomarkers. In addition, there is a possibility of negative association between C-peptide and depression by the effect of hemodialysis.
