An ultra-wide dual-polarized, orthogonal substrate integrated waveguide (OSIW) with metamaterial elements antenna by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed is proposed. This proposed antenna operates at S, C, X, and Ku bands, thereby providing low and high-frequency applications. Simultaneous achievement of high gain and wider axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) in dual-polarization is still a challenging task and the proposed antenna overcomes this limitation. The proposed antenna has OSIW, a circular patch with a circular slot complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR), extended at diagonal corners, and an ungrounded CPW feed. Integrating OSIW and CSRR metamaterial elements (CSRR-ME) helps to enhance efficiency, directivity, gain, and ultra BW. The proposed antenna uses FR-4 substrate material. The designed antenna resonates at two frequencies (i.e. 3 GHz and 9.5 GHz), and suitable for S, C, X, and Ku band (ISM, WLAN, WiMax, radar, and satellite) applications. The designed antenna is linearly polarized in the S and C bands, circularly polarized in the Ku band, and dual-polarized in the X band with an ARBW of 5 GHz. The gain of the antenna is 5dBi at 3 GHz and 5.9dBi at 9.5 GHz. A fractional BW of 52.2% is achieved at the S and C bands (2.42–4.13 GHz) and 99.4% is achieved at the X, and Ku bands (5.22–15.54 GHz).
