On September 10, 2019, Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research was given to Drs. Max D. Cooper (Emory University School of Medicine, USA) and Jacques Miller (Emeritus, The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, Australia) for identification of “two distinct classes of lymphocytes, B and T cells”. They were credited for having “launched the course of modern immunology” (http:// www.laskerfoundation.org/awards/show/b-and-t-cells-organizing-principle-adaptive-immune-system/).
