Laparoscopic rectopexy (LR) provides satisfactory anatomical correction of complete rectal prolapse.1,2 However, it remains controversial whether fecal incontinence and constipation can be improved. D’Hoore proposed laparoscopic ventral rectopexy (LVR)2 whose recurrence rate is as low as laparoscopic posterior rectopexy (LPR).3 This study was conducted to compare the outcomes of anorectal function after LVR and LPR.
